El-Sisi receives Saudi Crown Prince in Egypt for bilateral talks

During their talks, the two leaders agreed to intensify efforts to expand bilateral trade and investment, calling for practical measures to deepen economic cooperation and remove obstacles that could hinder greater trade and investment flows between the two countries.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Tuesday as part of the Crown Prince’s working visit to Egypt.

 

During their talks, the two leaders agreed to intensify efforts to expand bilateral trade and investment, calling for practical measures to deepen economic cooperation and remove obstacles that could hinder greater trade and investment flows between the two countries.

 

El-Sisi and Mohammed bin Salman stressed the need to elevate economic relations to a level that reflects the historic ties and strategic partnership between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, while exploring new opportunities for cooperation across various sectors.

 

According to Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official reception was followed by a closed-door meeting between El-Sisi and the Crown Prince, before the two sides held expanded talks attended by delegations from both countries. President El-Sisi later hosted a luncheon in honor of the Crown Prince and his accompanying delegation.

 

The two leaders also emphasized the importance of closer coordination amid current regional developments, affirming that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

 

Egypt reiterated its firm rejection and condemnation of any attacks or threats targeting Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, stability or territorial integrity, as well as threats to freedom of navigation through international waterways.

 

El-Sisi welcomed the Crown Prince to Egypt and praised the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two countries. He also conveyed his greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and congratulated the Saudi leadership and people ahead of Saudi National Day on September 23.

 

For his part, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality and praised the continued development of Egyptian-Saudi relations. He reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthening coordination, expanding cooperation and exploring new areas of partnership.
