Uber has launched "Meshwarha" (Her Journey), a long-term initiative aimed at supporting women's economic participation in Egypt through skills development, partnerships, and flexible earning opportunities.

The initiative debuted with a partnership between Uber and INJAZ Egypt to provide a structured upskilling program for 60 women drivers on the Uber platform across Egypt.

The first phase of the program will offer training in critical thinking, problem-solving, financial planning, saving, investing, and goal setting, equipping participants with practical skills to strengthen their financial wellbeing and support their professional development.

"Meshwarha reflects our commitment to supporting women's economic participation in Egypt by creating pathways to opportunity that extend beyond mobility," said Mohamed El Shamy, General Manager of Uber Egypt.

He added that the partnership with INJAZ Egypt represents an investment in women drivers by providing practical skills that can help them achieve their personal and professional goals.

The initiative was unveiled during an event featuring a panel discussion with actress and producer Esaad Younis, which highlighted the importance of women's economic empowerment and showcased the experiences of women driving on the Uber platform.

According to Uber, Meshwarha is designed as a long-term platform that will evolve through additional partnerships and programs focused on women's learning, earning, and career growth.

Yasmine Wilson, Managing Director of INJAZ Egypt, said the collaboration aims to equip women with practical life and financial skills that enable them to pursue their ambitions with greater confidence.

Uber said the launch marks the beginning of broader efforts to expand opportunities for women across Egypt through future partnerships supporting economic inclusion and skills development.
