Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), witnessed the signing of a contract for a new industrial project by Türkiye’s Yukinox Industry in the Sokhna Industrial Zone.

The project will be established within the premises of the Main Development Company, SCZONE’s development arm, with investments amounting to $14 million.

It will occupy an area of 37,000 square metres and is expected to create 220 direct jobs.

The contract was signed by Waleed Youssef, Managing Director of the Main Development Company, and Orhan Hakoglu, Chairman of Yukinox Industry.

The project’s first phase is scheduled to begin operations and production in mid-2028, with an annual production capacity of up to 1.2 million units.

The facility will manufacture stainless steel kitchen sinks as part of the value-added engineering industries sector, with its output directed towards meeting demand in both domestic and international markets.

Gamal El-Din said the Sokhna Industrial Zone continues to strengthen its position as one of SCZONE’s most important industrial hubs, supported by its integrated ecosystem of fully serviced industrial land, advanced infrastructure and proximity to Sokhna Port.

He noted that these advantages enable investors to establish production facilities capable of competing regionally and globally. The new project, he added, demonstrates the zone’s ability to attract specialised engineering industries that contribute to deepening local manufacturing and supporting value-added production.

Gamal El-Din described the Yukinox project as a significant addition to SCZONE’s engineering industries portfolio. He said it aligns with the authority’s strategy to attract investments that localise advanced industries and strengthen integration across supply chains.

Supporting the expansion of companies with strong production and export capabilities will help build a more diversified industrial base, increase exports and maximise the benefits of SCZONE’s strategic location as a global industrial and logistics hub, he added.

The Yukinox Industry project is being developed under an initiative supporting the expansion of industrial companies and institutions with export capabilities within SCZONE, in coordination with Egypt’s Administrative Control Authority.

The initiative aims to facilitate industrial investors’ expansion plans and enhance their production and export capacity.
