President of the United States Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Egypt is respected by the United States and by countries around the world.
Speaking during a bilateral meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, Trump said: “We have had a strong bilateral relationship, one that has been personal for a long time. We are working together on a number of projects and discussing several trade-related issues with Egypt.”
Trump added that the United States is working to resolve the issue of Ethiopia’s dam, which he said has caused a number of problems for Egypt. He noted that efforts are underway to address the matter.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, as part of a series of meetings with world leaders participating in the event.
The two leaders discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between Egypt and the United States across various fields.
