Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, held talks with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and coordinating positions on rapidly evolving regional developments.

Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s commitment to advancing cooperation with Austria across multiple fronts and enhancing coordination on regional and global matters of mutual concern, building on the political consultation framework signed in Cairo in June 2025.

He highlighted Egypt’s interest in broadening collaboration in key economic sectors, particularly trade and investment, through reactivating the joint committee between the two countries and encouraging greater Austrian investment flows into Egypt, especially within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

The minister also underscored opportunities to deepen cooperation in workforce training and labor organization, alongside launching new academic and cultural exchange initiatives.

He pointed to promising prospects for joint projects in renewable energy, information technology, and telecommunications.

Abdelatty noted the potential for trilateral partnerships in Africa, leveraging Egypt’s extensive experience in development and infrastructure projects across the continent.

On regional matters, the minister outlined Egypt’s ongoing efforts to promote security and stability in the region, including initiatives to contain current tensions and support diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran.

He reiterated that Egypt’s approach to regional crises is guided by support for political solutions, respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the strengthening of state institutions.

The meeting reflects Egypt’s broader diplomatic strategy to reinforce partnerships with European countries while maintaining a strong focus on regional stability and de-escalation.
