The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced a 42.5% increase in remittances from Egyptians working abroad during the period from January to November 2025, reaching approximately $37.5 billion, compared to around $26.3 billion during the same period of the previous year.
On a monthly basis, remittances in November 2025 recorded a 39.9% increase, reaching approximately $3.6 billion, compared to around $2.6 billion in November 2024.
This continued growth reflects the strength of financial inflows from abroad and their crucial role in supporting the national economy.
Earlier in September, the Cabinet’s Media Center announced that remittances from Egyptians working abroad more than doubled over the past decade, rising to $36.5 billion in FY2024/2025 compared with $17.1 billion in FY2015/2016, an increase of $19.4 billion.
The center attributed this record performance to the Central Bank of Egypt’s prudent monetary policy, which has stabilized the exchange rate, strengthened confidence in the economy, and positively impacted net international reserves, enhancing the state’s ability to withstand external challenges.
Remittance flows in recent years stood at $21.9 billion in FY2023/2024, $22.1 billion in FY2022/2023, $31.9 billion in FY2021/2022, and $31.4 billion in FY2020/2021.
