The Cabinet approved the continuation of procedures for offering wind power plants in the Gabal El Zeit area, with a capacity of 580 MW.

These plants are under the management of the New and Renewable Energy Authority as part of the government’s offering program.

Mohamed El-Homsani, the official spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that this approval underscores the government's commitment to advancing the government offering program, which was previously announced as part of the broader strategy to increase the private sector’s participation in economic activities.

The goal is to expand ownership and ensure the optimal utilization and development of state assets.

He added that the government continues to implement the offering program to broaden the ownership base of companies and enhance the attractiveness of the Egyptian market for both local and foreign investments.

The program aims to improve the efficiency of state-owned assets, maximize their economic benefit, and promote transparency and governance.

El-Homsani further explained that the government is working on executing the program, which includes offering shares in major companies across various sectors such as energy, logistics, industry, and telecommunications.

This comes in parallel with the economic and structural reforms the state is implementing to foster growth, create new job opportunities, and enhance Egypt's ability to attract more investments.
