Egypt’s manufacturing & extractive industries index rises 7.4% in July 2025

Paper and paper products’ index rose to 73.61 in July, up from 59.27 in June, marking a sharp 24.19 percent increase, attributed to the back-to-school season.

Egypt’s manufacturing and extractive industries production index, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, recorded 127.52 points in July 2025 (preliminary) compared with 118.71 points in June 2025 (final), reflecting a 7.4 percent increase, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Paper and paper products’ index rose to 73.61 in July, up from 59.27 in June, marking a sharp 24.19 percent increase, attributed to the back-to-school season.

Non-metallic mineral products’ index climbed to 89.27 in July, compared with 74.99 in June, an increase of 19.04 percent, driven by higher supply and demand.

Other transport equipment’s index dropped to 514.71 in July, compared with 624.57 in June, a 17.59 percent decrease as companies in this sector required longer production cycles.
