Chairman of China’s Sungrow Group, Cao Renxian, presented the company’s efforts in producing components for power plants and manufacturing energy storage batteries during his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

He affirmed the group’s readiness to cooperate with Egypt in localizing the energy storage battery industry, leveraging the country’s advanced infrastructure.

According to a Presidential statement, the discussions covered a project to establish a factory in Egypt with an annual production capacity of up to 10 gigawatts of energy storage batteries.

The project would support Egypt’s strategy to localize industries linked to new and renewable energy.

Renxian emphasized that Sungrow views Egypt as a strategic partner in developing this vital sector, citing its geographic position and its access to regional and global markets.

The meeting also explored opportunities for tripartite cooperation between Egypt, Norway’s Scatec, and China’s Sungrow Group.

Both companies expressed appreciation for the Egyptian government’s commitment to creating an attractive investment climate and removing obstacles, aligning with Egypt’s vision to strengthen its role as a regional hub for green energy manufacturing and exports.

President El-Sisi stressed the importance of maximizing cooperation with the two companies, reaffirming Egypt’s policy of localizing energy-related industries.

He highlighted the state’s support for ensuring high-quality project execution that delivers added value to the economy and supports sustainable growth strategies.
