Egypt & Bahrain sign 8 MoUs to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Egypt and Bahrain signed eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) across various sectors, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Among the agreements was an MoU between Egyptalum (Egypt Aluminum) and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) to foster investment cooperation and assess the feasibility of establishing an alumina refinery in Egypt.

Another MoU was signed between Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and Bahrain’s Economic Development Board to promote bilateral investment relations.

In the same context, an MoU for strategic cooperation was concluded between the Egyptian General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences and the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Additionally, a mutual recognition agreement was signed between Egypt’s Customs Authority and Bahrain Customs Affairs regarding the Authorized Economic Operator Program.

The documents also included an MoU on tourism cooperation between Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Bahrain’s Ministry of Tourism.

An MoU on cooperation in antiquities and museums was also signed between Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and Bahrain’s Authority for Culture and Antiquities.

Furthermore, an MoU on competition protection was concluded between Egypt’s Competition Authority and Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The series of signings was concluded with an MoU on technical cooperation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building in sustainable development between Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and Bahrain’s Ministry of Sustainable Development.
