El-Sisi reviews progress of key transport & industrial development projects

El Shenawi also noted that the meeting discussed the latest updates on the development of maritime ports, considering their pivotal role in the country's development programs.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi followed up on the progress of the transport and industry ministry projects, particularly those related to the railway system, in a meeting with Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry.

The official spokesperson for the Presidency, Mohamed El-Shenawi, stated that the the meeting included briefing on the Arish-Taba railway line, the completion of the Bir El-Abd-Arish railway line, which are vital to the development of the Sinai Peninsula and will create a logistical corridor connecting the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.

 El Shenawi also noted that the meeting discussed the latest updates on the development of maritime ports, considering their pivotal role in the country's development programs.

The executive status of the creation, development, and enhancement of the Ras Sedr, Gergoub, Abu Qir, Alexandria, and Meks ports, as well as the completion and development of the Sokhna port, the establishment of Taba port, and the development projects of Damietta port, were reviewed.

The spokesperson mentioned that the meeting also covered developments regarding the construction of the fourth line of Cairo's metro and the establishment of the high-speed electric train.

Additionally, the meeting discussed efforts to develop industrial areas in Wadi El-Sirria and Al-Mattahra in Minya Governorate and northern Faiyum Governorate, as part of the ongoing efforts to achieve industrial development in Upper Egypt and create more job opportunities, particularly in labor-intensive industries like spinning, weaving, and ready-made garments.

The official spokesperson emphasized that President El-Sisi stressed the importance of completing all projects according to their scheduled timelines.

He also directed continued efforts to accelerate the implementation of comprehensive logistical development projects that link production areas with the ongoing development of maritime ports, aiming to transform these ports into world-class hubs with significant capacities.

 This integration will be part of the broader modern transportation network, including roads, axes, and railways, providing the necessary infrastructure to make Egypt a global trade and logistics center.
