The Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, and Medical Supplies has signed a joint venture agreement with the American company Dawah Pharma. The partnership aims to manufacture and export a range of pharmaceutical products and dietary supplements to global markets.

According to Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, the new company will produce a variety of products, including ampoules, sterile injections, sterile ophthalmic preparations, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and dietary supplements.

The Egyptian side will hold a 40% stake in the new company, while the American partner will hold 60%. The joint venture will be responsible for exporting the products and opening new international markets.

The first phase of the agreement involves manufacturing and exporting six agreed-upon dietary supplements to the U.S. market, marking a first in the history of the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals, after meeting all international requirements and standards.

The minister added that the partnership will rely on advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies, including the production of syrups, tablets, ampoules, pre-filled syringes, and transdermal patches. These technologies are expected to accelerate market entry and ensure sustainable growth for the Holding Company and its subsidiaries.

Shimi emphasized that the new company will adhere to global regulatory standards, particularly those set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). This will enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian pharmaceuticals in European and North American markets, as well as emerging markets in Africa and Asia.
