Egypt & Sweden explore new opportunities to boost trade & investment collaboration

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan Al-Khatib, and Minister of Planning, Economic development and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, met with Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for International Trade and Development Cooperation, to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between Egypt and Sweden across various trade, industrial, and investment sectors.

Al-Khatib emphasized that Egypt offers exceptional investment opportunities for the Swedish business community in multiple productive and service sectors.

He highlighted the importance of coordination between the business communities of both countries to explore these opportunities and establish joint projects that serve the interests of their peoples and economies.

Minister of Planning Al-Mashat noted that the convening of the Egypt-Sweden Business Forum, with the participation of leading Swedish companies, reflects the significant potential to develop economic relations between the two nations.

She also pointed out that Egyptian-Swedish relations encompass advisory services provided by Swed Fund, the Swedish Development Fund, which supports the implementation of various development projects in Egypt.

For his part, Benjamin Dousa affirmed Sweden’s commitment to enhancing the frameworks of bilateral cooperation with Egypt, recognizing Egypt as one of Sweden’s most important economic partners in the region. He added that his visit to Cairo aims to explore further opportunities for trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
