El-Sisi reviews social protection plans & economic support measures

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, and Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, to discuss the government’s plans for supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening social protection programs.

During the meeting, officials reviewed the latest social protection packages aimed at assisting low-income families and beneficiaries of the Takaful and Karama program through June 2025.

These packages include planned salary and pension increases, which are set to take effect at the start of the new fiscal year in July 2025.

President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of refining targeting mechanisms to ensure that financial aid reaches those most in need.

He also highlighted the necessity of coordination between government agencies to develop effective social protection policies that enhance the living standards of low- and middle-income citizens.

The meeting also addressed the status of Egypt’s strategic food reserves and efforts to bolster supplies ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

The President directed officials to ensure that essential goods remain available at affordable prices. He also underscored the importance of continued market regulation and discount initiatives to ease the financial burden on citizens.
