Egypt’s exports to Saudi Arabia grow by 25.9% in 2024

The total volume of commercial exchange between the two countries surged by 37.8%, reaching $11.3 billion in 2024, compared to $8.2 billion in 2023.

Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia grew by 25.9% in 2024, reaching $3.4 billion, compared to $2.7 billion in 2023, according to the latest data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Egypt’s imports from Saudi Arabia saw an even sharper rise, climbing to $7.9 billion in 2024, up from $5.5 billion in the previous year, reflecting a 43.6% increase.

The total volume of commercial exchange between the two countries surged by 37.8%, reaching $11.3 billion in 2024, compared to $8.2 billion in 2023.

Among the most significant goods exported from Egypt to Saudi Arabia in 2024 were pure copper wires, which led the list with a total export value of $645 million.

 This was followed by vegetables and fruits, valued at $397 million, and iron and steel, which reached $222 million. Additionally, Egypt exported ready-made garments worth $202 million and furniture and prefabricated structures valued at $91 million.

On the other hand, Egypt’s largest imports from Saudi Arabia were dominated by fuels, mineral oils, and distillation products, amounting to $5.6 billion.

Plastics and plastic products ranked second, totaling $1.3 billion, followed by organic chemical products, which were valued at $285 million. Other key imports included aluminum and aluminum products worth $213 million, as well as paper and paper pulp products, which reached $109 million.

Saudi investments in Egypt saw a sharp decline in the 2023/2024 fiscal year, amounting to $775.5 million, a significant drop from $2.4 billion recorded in 2022/2023.

Similarly, Egyptian investments in Saudi Arabia decreased, totaling $190 million in 2023/2024, compared to $272.1 million in the previous fiscal year.
