Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, met with Jawad Bukhamseen, Chairman of Bukhamseen Holding Group, to review the company's current and future projects in the Egyptian market, as part of his official visit to Kuwait.
During the discussions, Minister El-Khatib outlined Bukhamseen Holding’s investments in Egypt, particularly in hotel management, finance, and restaurant operations.
He noted that the company is considering expanding its presence in Egypt’s hospitality sector, with plans to develop a new hotel project valued at $125 million.
The meeting also covered Egypt’s efforts to improve the business climate and highlighted investment opportunities and economic potential within the country.
El-Khatib further emphasized that Egypt is actively implementing financial, monetary, trade, and procedural reforms to facilitate investment and boost international trade.
He highlighted key initiatives, such as reducing customs clearance times to just two days and introducing tax reforms aimed at easing the financial burden on investors.
Additionally, the government is working to streamline regulatory processes by minimizing the number of government entities involved in investment projects.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a more competitive and attractive investment environment by enhancing institutional and legislative frameworks, simplifying procedures, and eliminating obstacles for investors.
The Chairman of Bukhamseen expressed the company’s strong interest in expanding its presence in the Egyptian market, recognizing Egypt as a key investment destination in the region.
He also revealed that the company is currently working on the development of two new projects in New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement as part of its expansion strategy.
