The trade volume between Egypt and Greece totaled $1.5 billion during the first 11 months of 2024, compared to $1.8 billion in the same period of 2023, according to the latest data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization (CAPMAS).

Egyptian exports to Greece reached $1 billion, down slightly from $1.3 billion in 2023. Imports from Greece, however, saw a slight increase, rising to $530 million from $523 million during the same period.

Egypt’s key exports to Greece during this period included mineral fuels, oils, and distillation products worth $610 million, fertilizers valued at $92 million, and vegetables and fruits totaling $84 million.

Other significant exports were plastics and articles thereof at $46 million and iron and steel worth $33 million.

On the other hand, Egypt’s key imports from Greece included mineral fuels, oils, and distillation products valued at $274 million, followed by cotton at $120 million.

 Other imports included fruits and nuts worth $44 million, tobacco at $15 million, and machinery and electrical appliances also valued at $15 million.

 Egyptians working in Greece sent home $15 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024, up from $14.3 million in 2022/2023.

 Meanwhile, Greeks working in Egypt transferred $3.4 million during the same period, an increase from $2.7 million in the previous fiscal year.

Greek investments in Egypt reached $13.9 million in the fiscal year 2023/2024, nearly doubling from $6.7 million in 2022/2023.

Similarly, Egyptian investments in Greece rose to $1 million during the same fiscal year, compared to $700,000 in 2022/2023.
