Egypt's imports of cars records $214M in December 2023

Egypt's imports of passenger cars rose to $214.8 million in December 2023, up from $160.7 million in December 2022, an increase of about $54.8 million, revealed the latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The value of Egypt's imports of passenger cars in November 2023 reached $223.4 million, compared to $107.3 million in the same month of 2022, an increase of $116.9 million.

During the period from January to September 2023, total Egyptian imports of cars recorded about $1.3 billion, compared to $1.5 billion in the same period of 2022, with a decline amounting to about $213.6.

Recently, CAPMAS reported that Egypt’s trade balance deficit increased by 17.8% in December 2023, to reach $3.03 billion, compared to $2.57 billion in December 2022.

According to CAPMAS, during December 2023, the value of Egypt’s exports decreased by 23.0%, to reach $3.48 billion, compared to $4.52 billion for the same month of 2022.

In December 2023, volume imports also witnessed a decline of 8.2%, reaching $6.5 billion, compared to $7.09 billion for the same month of the previous year.
