The preparatory meetings for the 31st session of the Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Committee have commenced today in the Jordanian capital.

The meetings, scheduled from August 5 to August 7, reflect the strong commitment of both brotherly nations to enhance relations across various domains, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, to bolster joint development efforts. This paves the way for the higher committee's session, to be jointly chaired by the Prime Ministers of both countries.

The committee will continue its meetings tomorrow, Sunday, with preparatory ministerial sessions chaired by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation, and Yusuf Al-Shamali, Jordan's Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply and Minister of Labor, preceding the conclusion of the higher committee meetings presided by the Prime Ministers of both countries.

During these meetings, the expert delegations from both nations will discuss various priority areas of cooperation, as well as proposed documents for signing during the higher joint committee sessions, aiming to bolster bilateral collaboration and build upon the successful 30th session held over the past decades.

In February 2022, the 30th Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Committee session took place under the chairmanship of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

This milestone session witnessed the signing of the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of logistic zones, an MoU for cooperation in the agricultural quarantine sector, an executive program in higher education, an executive program for youth cooperation for the years 2022-2024, and a media cooperation protocol between the two sides.

The strong ties between Egypt and Jordan continue to flourish, fostering mutual growth and progress. The commitment displayed during these preparatory meetings lays the groundwork for further cooperation and economic advancements, contributing to the welfare of both nations and their people.
