The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) and the Governorate of Giza, signed two contracts comes under the Unplanned Areas Upgrading and Employment Enhancement Programme (UAUEEP).
The program is funded by the European Union (EU) with a grant delegated to the French Development Agency (AFD). The contract aims to develop and revitalize the Mit Okba and Ard El Lewa areas in Giza.
Basil Rahmi, CEO of the MSMEDA, stated that the development of the Mit Okba area will be completed with funding of EGP 12 million and the development of the Ard El Lewa area, will be completed with funding of EGP 10 million.
Rahmi also said that the new signed contracts aim to provide about 14,000 job opportunities for irregular workers, and benefit about 50,000 residents in these areas.
