The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has established an operations room in the Central Administration of Tourism Companies during the blessed Eid al-Fitr vacation to monitor the conditions of tourists, as well as the movement of Egyptian pilgrims traveling to and from Saudi Arabia.

The operations room aims to provide maximum comfort and safety for them until their return. In addition, the operations room will receive and review any complaints or violations received from tourists or citizens during the holiday and remove any obstacles they may face.

This move confirms the regulatory and organizational role played by the ministry in regulating the tourism industry and its keenness to ensure the quality of services provided to maintain the safety of tourists and citizens.

Samia Sami, head of the Central Administration of Tourism Companies at the Ministry, indicated that the operations room is responsible for monitoring and controlling the performance of tourism companies, in addition to continuous communication and coordination with the Tourism and Antiquities Police, the Chamber of Travel and Tourism Companies and Agencies, and the ministry's offices in all tourist governorates for rapid intervention to solve any problem that may arise for Egyptian and foreign tourists.

Samia Sami added that the directive has been issued to work quickly to investigate and resolve complaints received from tourists and citizens, in addition to ensuring that tourism companies comply with all agreed-upon tourism programs.

The Ministry is also working on continuous and close follow-up to the procedures for the return of Egyptian pilgrims and ensuring their safe arrival to their homeland through daily communication with its committees located at airports and receiving their daily reports.

All complaints related to citizens and tourists are received through the unified government complaints portal for the Council of Ministers or through the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities hotline (19654), which operates 24 hours a day to receive all complaints and suggestions from visitors and tourists to the tourism destination.

This move by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities comes as part of its continuous efforts to enhance the tourism industry in Egypt, which has been steadily recovering since the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. The ministry has been implementing various measures to attract more tourists, such as developing and restoring historical sites, expanding air routes, and promoting domestic tourism.
