Egypt's petroleum sector implements strategies to maximize work, production

Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, held the third periodic meeting to follow up on the progress of implementing integration plans and improving the efficiency of operations between small production companies.

El-Molla emphasized the importance of coordination between companies by using the available facilities in the Western Desert, which is one of the most important petroleum production areas in Egypt.

He also stressed the need to adopt non-traditional methods to overcome the challenges of natural production decline, confirming that the current prices encourage partners to exert more efforts to increase production.

It is worth noting that the ministry's strategy to maximize work and production focuses on all elements of the petroleum system for their significant economic and service roles.

The system to maximize the productivity of small production companies in the Sinai, Eastern and Western deserts include encouraging coordination and organizing work management between companies by utilizing their technical capabilities and infrastructure to increase production.

This is done through several approaches, including managing tanks by determining the best locations for exploratory, evaluation, and development drilling, following up and implementing field development plans, updating them periodically and managing drilling operations.

In addition to this, working together in each of these regions to provide a strategic inventory of the necessary equipment and machinery for drilling and production operations, and providing logistics support.

The petroleum sector is a crucial component of the Egyptian economy, accounting for approximately 25% of the country's GDP.

The recent efforts of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to maximize the productivity of small production companies in the Western Desert and other regions will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the economy.

By increasing the efficiency of operations and increasing production, the sector will generate more revenue and create more job opportunities.
