Egyptian non-oil exports up by 20% during H1 2022 | GOEIC

The construction materials sector accounted for 19% of total non-oil exports valued at $3.69 billion during the January-June period

Egypt’s non-oil exports hit $19.4 billion during the first half of the year, jumping by 20% when compared to H1 2021’s recorded $16.16 billion, revealed new data by the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC).

Accounting for the majority of non-oil exports was the chemical industries and fertilizers sector at 22% of Egypt’s total non-oil exports at a value of $4.33 billion in H1 2022 with an annual growth of 35% when compared to H1 2021’s $3.21 billion.

The construction materials sector accounted for 19% of total non-oil exports valued at $3.69 billion during the January-June period, a jump from H1 2021’s $3.08 billion.

The food industry sector saw a modest incline of 4% during the 6 months period, accounting for 11% of total non-oil exports at a value of $2.14 billion. The engineering sector accounted for 10%, up by 27% at a value of $1.9 billion.

Exports of ready-made garments rose by 42% annually to $1.28 billion, while exports of agricultural crops increased by 10% annually during the January-June period in 2022 to $1.86 billion.
