Egypt ranks 87th in recent UN Sustainable Development Report

Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Said explained that Egypt ranked 15th out of 20 countries at the level of emerging markets in 2022

Egypt ranked 30th globally countries in the global outreach impact index of the UN’s Sustainable Development Report by the University of Cambridge, in cooperation with the German (Bertelsmann Stiftung) Foundation, and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

Overall, Egypt ranked 87th on the SDG Index with a score of 68.7 (global average is 66.7), 7th out of 20 Arab countries, 4th out of 47 African countries, and 7th in the Middle East and North Africa region. Egypt was ranked 83rd last year on the overall SDG index.

Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Said, revealed in an official statement today that Egypt outperformed in education, research and development indicators, health, well-being and demography compared to the performance of countries in the Middle East and North Africa and lower middle-income countries.

She explained that Egypt ranked 15th out of 20 countries at the level of emerging markets in 2022.

The Sustainable Development Report 2022 (SDR2022) presents data on countries' performance towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and points to areas that require faster progress.
