Samsung celebrates new batch of programming and AI grads from Innovation Campus program

Samsung Innovation Campus comes within Samsung's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 to enable youths in keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution

As part of their efforts to support Egyptian youths prepare for the tech job market, Samsung Electronics Egypt recently celebrated the graduation of a new batch from the 3rd round of Samsung Innovation Campus 2021.

In partnership with Life Makers Foundation, the ceremony witnessed the graduation of 120 students, with 60 graduates specialized in the field of coding and programming and the other 60 specialized in artificial intelligence, aiming to qualify youth to enter the workforce and enable them to harness future technologies.

Under the supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and in partnership with WE, Samsung implemented a new educational program at WE Joint School of Applied ICT.

The program completed its first phase and successfully graduated 193 students from the first school of applied technology. The total number of graduates from Samsung Innovation Campus amounted to 433 students since the initial launch of the program back in 2019.

It is noteworthy to mention that Samsung Innovation Campus comes within Samsung's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 to enable youths in keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution to enhance their skills and provide the society with a competent pool of human resources.

To further nurture the fruitful partnership with Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and WE in implementing C&P educational programs in Egypt, Samsung also announced the launch of a new phase of Samsung Innovation Campus in 2022 to further cultivate the developers’ mindset by training students in the fields of coding, programming and artificial intelligence.

Ahmed Ali Gaafar, Head of Marketing at Samsung Egypt, stated that Samsung Innovation Campus reflects the company’s keenness on empowering youth and equipping them with the needed skills to compete in the workforce and shape their futures. “The program provides the market with qualified candidates who are capable of keeping pace with latest technologies,” he explained.

Gaafar also expressed his pride with the program’s achievements so far, leveraging unique partnerships that contributed significantly in graduating 433 students in accordance to highest quality and standards. “I am optimistic towards the next rounds that will continue to qualify the biggest number possible of students in the upcoming years.”

The first phase kicked off at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) in Smart Village. In response to the pandemic, Samsung Egypt decided to move from the typical online learning to the new self-learning technique; in the second phase, through a highly trained team of technical advisors and an advanced videography team to generate high-resolution video content for e-learning that successfully transformed Samsung Innovation Campus to the ultimate Digital Hub for learning.

Following the program’s huge success, and to fully assess it, a survey was conducted showcasing an attendance rate of 92%, a completion rate of 96% while the overall satisfaction rate a whopping 92% which is considered the highest satisfaction rate achieved by the program worldwide. The exceptional results reflect the high responsiveness of Egyptian students to learn the language of the future.

For his part, Ahmed Moussa, CEO of Life Makers Foundation Egypt, expressed his gratitude to this partnership, which is considered a successful endeavor to technological diffusion in the society. Moussa also praised Samsung’s efforts in passing on its technical expertise in accordance to the highest global standards.

Within the same context, Moussa Georgy, Senior Communication Manager at Samsung Electronics Egypt said that Samsung strives to play an influential role in developing the Egyptian society which stems from its vision to elevate citizens’ quality of life. “Samsung takes pride in supporting and training youths, in addition to providing them with the needed qualifications to excel in their lives. The company aims to expand the program to reach youths all over Egypt through engaging on new partnerships,” he added.
