Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait announced Wednesday that total funds supporting the country’s health sector have received LE 14.4 billion since the start of the Corona pandemic.

The minister noted that since the beginning of the pandemic, the government had taken immediate measures to support the medical sector. The government provided LE 1 billion to the Ministry of Health, with an additional LE 1 billion at the start of the second wave.

According to Maait, President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi directed the allocation of LE 100 billion to finance the state's plan to confront the repercussions of the coronavirus and reduce the burden on citizens from the very beginning of the pandemic in Egypt.

He also pointed out that the president also called for the strengthening of the financial support package to counter the negative effects of this global epidemic at the beginning of the second wave.
