Arab countries topped the list of the most important international groups importing Egyptian foods during 2023, representing 54% of total food exports
Exports in 2023 have been generally positive, with an average growth of 8% compared to 2022, with the highest growth reported in July 2023 with an uptick of 63% year-on-year (YoY)
The Food Export Council (FEC) published a report this March that showed that Egypt’s food industry sector's exports increased by 3% in the first two months of 2023 to reach $665 million compared to $645 million during the same period in 2022
According to FEC, the number of Egyptian companies and factories exporting during H1 2022 within the sector is around 1,678, including 302 companies whose exports exceed $1 million
Food exports to the EU jumped to $152 million from a recorded $116 million in Q1 2020
