This announcement came during a comprehensive workshop held at the headquarters of Eni in Milan, Italy.
The goal is to add approximately 7,500 barrels per day, increasing total production to 9,000 barrels per day.
Gas production from the West Delta region saw a 3% month-on-month decrease in January, reaching 3.1 bcf/d — the lowest in eight years — despite the activation of more of Shell’s West Delta Deep Marine wells earlier in the month.
Their discussions focused on enhancing Egypt’s LNG capabilities through technical expertise sharing and trade cooperation, according to a statement from the ministry.
The LNG shipments will be directed to the Höegh Gallant regasification vessel, currently stationed at Sumed Port in Ain Sokhna, before being fed into the national gas grid.
