Efforts intensify as Egyptian, French Presidents collaborate on Gaza ceasefire

In a significant diplomatic development, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt engaged in a telephonic conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders discussed the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip as part of their continuous consultations on the matter.

The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, conveyed that the conversation revolved around reviewing the results of international and regional diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation in Gaza.

This discussion comes in light of the relentless diplomatic engagements and initiatives to contain the crisis.

During the call, President Sisi emphasized the need to intensify efforts to secure a ceasefire, with a primary focus on safeguarding the lives of civilians. Furthermore, the leaders emphasized the importance of facilitating unimpeded humanitarian aid access to the region.

President Macron expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt's role in the political and humanitarian aspects, particularly in the provision, coordination, and delivery of aid to Gaza. France also commended Egypt for receiving Palestinian casualties and evacuating foreign nationals, showcasing French relief efforts in this context.

Both Presidents agreed to maintain a strong and continued coordination in response to developments in the Middle East region. They pledged to work towards urging all parties involved to seek peaceful solutions, ultimately striving for the establishment of a two-state solution and the creation of a Palestinian state.
