Sumerge, a long-established technology consulting firm in the Middle East, recently participated as a co-sponsor of the Data Streaming World Tour’s Cairo session, held in collaboration with Confluent.

The event brought together professionals and technology leaders from across the Middle East and Africa to examine the growing impact of real-time data streaming on enterprise architecture, with discussions focused on the role of real-time data streaming in modernizing enterprise architectures and the practical applications of event-driven systems across sectors such as finance, telecom, and government.

One of the event’s featured presentations, led by Sumerge Solutions Engineer Khalid Kahar, addressed the process of replacing legacy ETL systems in banking environments. The session, titled "Modernizing 20-Year-Old ETLs to a Modern Data Pipeline in Banking," outlined how financial institutions are adopting streaming technologies to improve data accessibility, reduce latency, and support faster decision-making.

Commenting on the broader significance of real-time data adoption, Sumerge Chief Commercial Officer Hassan El Sinbawy noted, “Real-time data is transforming the way organizations operate.
