Local startup 1Trolley beats 226 competing businesses to be one of the winners of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) first Startup Innovation Challenge, and is the only MENA startup to do so.

The top 5 winners of the challenge will share $500K, in a mix of cash reimbursement and advisory vouchers within the framework of the Star Venture program including business diagnostics as well as tailored one-on-one technical advisory support, mentoring and access to international investors.

The Egyptian startup is an on-demand last mile delivery service, where users can use their mobile app to order products from nearby grocery stores, gift shops, restaurants, and pharmacies.

The EBRD’s Start-up Innovation Challenge is supported through donor funds from Egypt and the Republic of Korea, as well as the EBRD Small Business Impact Fund.
