To further educate Egyptians and highlight the global digital landscape, the cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) recently published an AI-generated article to describe the metaverse.
“The metaverse is a term used to describe a fully immersive digital world where people can interact with each other and their surroundings in a way that blurs the line between the physical and digital worlds,” the AI wrote.
As Artificial Intelligence-based software becomes more readily available to the masses, accelerated by the beta versions of OpenAI’s chatbot and AI-art generator DALL-E 2, the more information and awareness on the latest technologies become vital.
“The metaverse world is still in its early stages, but it has the potential to revolutionize how we interact with each other, the internet, and the world around us. It's not just a new technology but rather a concept that has been around for a long time and has been explored in science fiction literature and movies for decades,” it added.
“It could be the next step in the evolution of the internet, transforming it from a passive tool to an active and participatory space,” it pointed out.
The article went on to explain that the metaverse has exciting possibilities including as a new social platform, as a platform for education and training, and a platform for businesses to create virtual storefronts and showrooms where customers can interact with products in a way that is different from that of traditional e-commerce, as well as virtual offices that would simulate a working environment for those working remotely.
The AI did point out that the metaverse does have challenges and concerns, particularly privacy and security. There is also the potential for addiction and social isolation, as people spend more time in virtual worlds and less time in the physical world.
“In conclusion, the metaverse world is an exciting and rapidly evolving concept that has the potential to transform the way we interact with each other and the world around us.
