The EGX70 EWI index, which measures the performance of small- and mid-cap stocks, dropped 3.87% to 19,067.23 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI index declined 3.49% to 25,317.49 points. The Shariah index also declined 3.49% to 25,317.49 points.
The total market capitalization stood at EGP 4.142 trillion by the end of the session.
Total trading value reached EGP 7.677 billion, with 1.8 billion securities across 234,908 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers by EGP 158.003 million, while Arab investors recorded net sales of EGP 14.905 million.
Foreign investors, meanwhile, were net buyers by EGP 172.909 million.
Top gainers
Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment led the session’s gainers, rising 7.58% to close at EGP 86.05. Egyptian Gulf Marseilia for Real Estate Investment followed with a 5.79% gain to EGP 11.32, while Marsa Marsa Alam for Tourism Development advanced 4.91% to EGP 4.70.
Natural Gas & Mining Project (Egypt Gas) gained 3.62% to EGP 57.00, while International Company for Fertilizers & Chemicals rose 2.48% to EGP 22.76.
Top losers
O B Financial Holding led the session’s losers, falling 10.78% to close at EGP 0.91. KORRA declined 10.45% to EGP 6.00, while Lotus For Agricultural Investments And Development dropped 10.29% to EGP 0.767.
Nasr Company for Civil Works fell 10.14% to EGP 6.65, while Al Tawfeek Leasing Company-A.T.LEASE declined 9.91% to EGP 5.82.
