Egypt’s stock market capitalization rises EGP 75B to EGP 4.4T

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 1.23% to 55,498.72 points.

The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) market capitalization rose by EGP 75 billion at the close of Thursday’s trading, the final session of the week, reaching EGP 4.396 trillion.
 
Total market turnover stood at around EGP 239.2 billion, including transactions in bonds and Treasury bills and ownership-transfer deals, while equity trading value reached EGP 9.9 billion.
 
EGX’s main indices closed higher, supported by buying from foreign institutions, investment funds and individual investors, while local and Arab institutions as well as Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers.
 
The benchmark EGX30 index rose 1.23% to 55,498.72 points, while the EGX70 index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, gained 1.52% to 21,061.13 points.
 
The broader EGX100 index advanced 1.57% to 27,681.98 points.
