Nov. 5 | EGX starts week in the green with strong gains by main indices

Benchmark index EGX 30 surged by 2.01% to close the session at 23,094.69 points

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rode a strong performance by its main indices into the green, continuing Thursday’s significant growth pattern.

Benchmark index EGX 30 surged by 2.01% to close the session at 23,094.69 points.

EGX 70 saw a significant jump of 2.33% to 4,515.47 points, with EGX 100 following with a climb of 2.20% at 6,726.34 points.

Sunday trading saw 1.22 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of EGP 3.57 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at EGP 1.559 trillion, an additional EGP 22 billion compared to last week’s close of EGP 1.535 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian and foreign investors as net buyers with EGP 18.9 million and EGP 5.62 million, respectively. Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 24.6 million.

The top gains of the session were by El Ahli Investment and Development with an uptick of 19.99%, The Egyptian Modern Education Systems by 15.61%, and El Arabia for Land Reclamation by 13.14%.

The largest losses of the session were by Egyptian Gulf Marseilia for Real Estate Investment which dropped by 8.71%, Misr Hotels by 5.9%, and Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad) by 4.97%.
