The talks also addressed ADNOC Drilling’s potential participation in Egypt’s five-year programme to expand onshore and offshore well drilling.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi discussed with ADNOC Drilling CEO Abdulla Ateya Al Messabi the company’s plans to expand its presence in the Egyptian market and establish partnerships with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and its affiliated companies.
The talks also addressed ADNOC Drilling’s potential participation in Egypt’s five-year programme to expand onshore and offshore well drilling.
The meeting explored opportunities for strategic partnerships between ADNOC Drilling and Egypt’s petroleum sector to support exploration activities, accelerate the development of new discoveries, and increase crude oil and natural gas production.
Badawi said expanding drilling activity is a central pillar of the ministry’s five-year plan and part of a broader strategy to maximise domestic production by intensifying exploration, accelerating field development, and increasing well-drilling rates.
He added that the ministry aims to deploy the latest technologies and technical solutions to improve drilling efficiency and maximise returns from Egypt’s petroleum resources.
The minister highlighted the promising opportunities within Egypt’s petroleum sector, which could pave the way for further partnerships with international and Arab drilling companies possessing advanced technical and technological expertise.
Badawi praised ADNOC Drilling’s experience and its ability to use technology and innovation to improve drilling and production efficiency. He said the company’s capabilities could make a valuable contribution to Egypt’s plans to expand drilling operations and increase production.
He also underscored the importance of benefiting from the wider expertise of the ADNOC Group, led by Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, noting that cooperation in the petroleum and energy sectors would strengthen the strategic partnership between Egypt and the UAE.
Badawi added that improvements to the petroleum sector’s investment climate and measures taken to strengthen investor confidence provide a solid foundation for attracting further investment and expanding exploration and production.
For his part, Al Messabi said ADNOC Drilling views Egypt’s opportunities positively, particularly in light of the Ministry of Petroleum’s ambitious five-year drilling programme.
He confirmed the company’s readiness to participate by deploying its operational expertise and technical and technological capabilities to support Egypt’s plans to increase production.
Al Messabi also stressed the importance of cooperating with the Egyptian Drilling Company, given its extensive experience in drilling oil and gas wells inside and outside Egypt.
Specialised technical meetings are expected to be held between the two sides to explore potential areas of cooperation and identify opportunities to participate in the planned drilling programme.
