President El-Sisi issues government directives following cabinet reshuffle

The economic team, led by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, is to prioritize sustained economic improvement, coordinate long-term planning, and ensure harmony across ministries.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has issued a series of directives to the Egyptian government following the recent cabinet reshuffle, emphasizing priorities across national security, economic development, and social welfare.
 
The presidential directives include:
 
1. Ministries are to align with the key pillars outlined at the formation of the government, including national security and foreign policy, economic development, production, energy and food security, and social development and human capital.
 
2. Each ministry is tasked with preparing a plan detailing targets, actions, timelines, required funding, and performance indicators, to be monitored and evaluated continuously.
 
3. The economic team, led by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, is to prioritize sustained economic improvement, coordinate long-term planning, and ensure harmony across ministries. Particular attention will be given to the conclusion of the IMF program later this year, managing public debt, and implementing innovative policies with measurable short- and long-term impact.
 
4. Continued implementation of state ownership policies with tangible steps, alongside expanding private sector participation in the economy.
 
5. Encouraging growth in high-potential areas such as technology, rare minerals, and related industries, while supporting innovation and funding applied research.
 
6. Sustainable improvements in education and healthcare systems, ensuring accessible treatment and care for citizens.
 
7. Promoting citizenship values, equality, non-discrimination, and active public participation in governance, including the completion of local council elections to enhance community oversight of local administration.
 
8. Ensuring continuous, accurate communication to the public through a professional, responsible national media, countering misinformation, fostering dialogue, and promoting critical thinking and respect for diverse opinions.
