Egypt is set to host the inaugural edition of the AI Everything Middle East and Africa (MEA) Summit and Expo under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, underscoring the strategic importance of artificial intelligence within the country’s economic development agenda and its broader digital transformation drive.
The summit and exhibition will take place on 11–12 February 2026 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, marking the first major global event of the year dedicated entirely to artificial intelligence.
The event is expected to position Cairo as an international platform for shaping the future of responsible AI innovation, investment and advanced digital governance.
Organized within the GITEX global network, the world’s largest technology and AI exhibition ecosystem, the event is hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
The high-level patronage reflects Egypt’s ambition to become a global meeting point linking Africa, the Middle East and international innovation ecosystems, while accelerating its transition toward a knowledge- and intelligence-based economy.
The summit is expected to bring together more than 350 AI-focused companies and startups from over 30 countries, showcasing cutting-edge innovations and practical applications across key sectors, including government services, smart cities, cybersecurity, financial technology, digital payments, future mobility and business transformation.
A significant number of international companies will be entering the Egyptian market for the first time through the event, highlighting Egypt’s growing appeal as a regional gateway for AI-driven investment and expansion.
The summit will also host more than 10 local and international ministers, alongside prominent global governance bodies and institutions, including the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Environment Programme, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the UAE Cybersecurity Council.
High-level discussions will focus on responsible AI practices, expanding national AI infrastructure, strengthening governance frameworks, and exploring policy and investment models needed to ensure sustainable AI development globally.
As Egypt continues to implement its national digital transformation strategy, AI Everything MEA is expected to serve as a milestone event that reinforces Cairo’s position as a regional hub where the future of artificial intelligence in Africa and the Middle East is shaped.
