Egypt is seeking to strengthen economic integration with Türkiye to support joint manufacturing and expand exports to global markets, aiming to better leverage the diverse economic capabilities of both countries, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said.

Speaking during an open video conference dialogue with around 250 leading Turkish investors participating in the Egyptian–Turkish Chambers of Commerce meeting in New Alamein City, Kouchouk said the Egyptian and Turkish private sectors are well positioned to increase mutual investments and broaden economic cooperation.

He highlighted strong potential for collaboration across several industries, particularly food processing, engineering industries, garments and home appliances.

“The Egyptian economy is improving strongly, and private sector investments rose by 73% last year. This strong performance is continuing,” Kouchouk said, adding that rising investment inflows into the Suez Canal Economic Zone represent a successful model for regional and international partnerships.

The finance minister noted that first-quarter indicators of the current fiscal year reflect sustained improvement in economic performance.

He stressed that the government remains committed to maintaining fiscal discipline to ensure continued progress and a reduction in debt indicators.

In a related statement, Ahmed El Wakil, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, said the federation aims to promote industrial zones in New Alamein, Gargoub and Borg El Arab to attract more Turkish investments and deepen bilateral partnerships.
