The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has signed a vision exchange agreement with Oman Integrated Logistics Services to enhance joint cooperation in maritime operations and logistics services.

The agreement outlines potential areas of collaboration, focusing on training, ship repair, and maintenance.

It aims to leverage the extensive expertise of the SCA’s shipyards and companies, along with the advanced training capabilities of the Suez Canal Maritime Training and Simulation Academy.

General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the SCA, emphasized the authority's commitment to transforming into a regional hub for logistics services.

This initiative has led to the introduction of new maritime services, including fuel supply, crew changes, and maritime ambulance services.

Rabie also highlighted efforts to improve ship maintenance and repair services, provide technical support during emergencies, and strengthen partnerships across maritime and logistics sectors to enhance vessel transit experiences.

Proposed areas of cooperation between the SCA and Oman Integrated Logistics Services include joint marketing to attract Omani fleet ships to transit the canal, discussions on establishing a specialized consultancy center for technical and logistical support, and the organization of joint workshops and conferences to share best practices and improve operational efficiency in logistics and maritime services.

Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Oman’s ambassador to Egypt, commended the Suez Canal as a prime destination for delivering world-class maritime and logistics services.

He expressed his aspirations for deeper maritime collaboration and highlighted the importance of utilizing the SCA’s extensive expertise to align with Oman’s Vision 2040, which prioritizes maritime industries.
