Car Sales in Egypt Surge by 11.66% in the First 11 Months of 2024

According to a report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), private car sales grew by 17%, totaling 70,900 vehicles during this period, up from 60,800 vehicles in the corresponding months of 2023.

Car sales in Egypt saw a significant increase of 11.66% during the first 11 months of 2024, reaching approximately 89,300 vehicles compared to 79,900 vehicles in the same period in 2023.

According to a report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), private car sales grew by 17%, totaling 70,900 vehicles during this period, up from 60,800 vehicles in the corresponding months of 2023.

In November alone, private car sales reached 8,500 units, marking a 7.5% increase compared to 7,900 units sold in November 2023.

Truck sales across various categories rose by 4.4%, amounting to 11,900 trucks in the first 11 months of 2024, up from 11,400 trucks during the same period in 2023.

However, bus sales experienced a decline of 17%, recording 6,400 units compared to over 7,600 units in the same period last year.

Earlier in December, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization ( CAPMAS) Egypt’s car imports declined to $163.755 million in September 2024, down from $218.854 million in the same month last year, a decrease of $55.099 million.

However, passenger car imports saw a significant surge from the beginning of this year until August, compared to the same period in 2023.

 Total imports of passenger cars reached $1.692 billion between January and August, up from $1.155 billion during the same period in 2023, an increase of $536.623 million.
