This came on the sidelines of the DevOps Days Cairo 2024 conference, which is organized by the Software Engineering Evaluation and Certification Center (SECC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA).
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) invested EGP 1.7 billion to develop the digital skills of Egyptian youth in FY 2023l2024, according to Ghada Labib, Deputy Minister of MCIT.
The Ministry set a plan to reach 500,000 trainees during the current fiscal year, and one million trainees during FY2029/2030.
This came on the sidelines of the DevOps Days Cairo 2024 conference, which is organized by the Software Engineering Evaluation and Certification Center (SECC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA).
Deputy Minister Labib added that the number of trainees witnessed an increase of about 125-fold over 6 years, and the number of trainees reached about 400,000 trainees.
She emphasized the significance of the CIT sector, highlighting its status as a priority for governmental focus. This sector, pivotal in both services and production, significantly bolsters the Egyptian economy and propels digital transformation within the country.
Labib underscored the collaborative nature of this effort, positioning it as a fundamental pillar for fostering innovation and boosting digital exports. This enhances Egypt's appeal as a prime investment hub in the tech industry.
