The Ministry of International Cooperation (MoIC) will receive a technical mission from the European Union (EU) to discuss the mechanism of macroeconomic support and budget support.
This will come within the framework of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the European Union.
The mission will hold meetings with the Ministries of Finance, Social Solidarity, and representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, with the participation of various relevant parties.
The mission's agenda also includes meetings with national entities represented by the Ministries of Environment, Electricity, Labor, Planning, Trade and Industry, and the Central Bank of Egypt.
Minister of MoIC, Rania Al-Mashat, highlighted the significance of recent meetings, emphasizing their reflection of a comprehensive partnership aimed at achieving shared strategic interests.
Al-Mashat added that the cooperation with the EU comes within a complementary framework with the World Bank and the United Kingdom
These collaborations aim to maximize support for Egypt's economic and structural reform endeavors, she added.
Earlier in March, the EU has announced a proposed package of financial support and investments worth €7.4 billion for 2024-2027, to strengthen relations with Egypt. The announcement was made by the Delegation of the European Union during the EU-Egypt Summit held in Cairo on Sunday.
The comprehensive package includes €600 million in grants, with €200 million specifically allocated for migration management. Additionally, €5 billion will be provided in soft loans, and €1.8 billion will be invested in various sectors.
