Egypt's "Decent Life" project enters its second phase with a focus on vital infrastructure development, including hospitals, roads, and water projects.
The second phase of the national project "Decent Life" aims to implement numerous projects across all sectors. The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has allocated 13.12 billion Egyptian pounds for the second phase of the "Decent Life" initiative, including 7.12 billion pounds for completing drinking water and sanitation projects, and 6 billion pounds for canal rehabilitation and lining projects.
Additionally, 10 billion pounds have been allocated during the investment plan for 2023/2024 to serve the second phase of "Decent Life" projects.
Among the targeted projects in the second phase of the "Decent Life" project are:
1. Establishing and developing 115 hospitals with a budget of 3.9 billion pounds.
2. Implementing 6 major road projects with a budget of 975 million pounds.
3. Targeting the rehabilitation and lining of canals totaling approximately 1,741 kilometers.
4. Implementing 478 sewage projects.
5. Establishing and developing 66 sewage treatment plants.
6. Implementing 120 projects for water purification networks and stations.
7. Implementing 336 projects for pre-university education to establish and develop approximately 5,000 classrooms and 48 Azhari institutes.

The report indicates that the completion of the entire first phase is expected by 2024 with an investment volume of 350 billion pounds. The second phase targets 52 centers comprising 1,667 villages, benefiting a population of 21 million people, with total targeted initial investments of 23 billion pounds.
