An agreement has been made with the European Commission to host a collaborative investment conference between Egypt and the European Union on June 29th and 30th, as confirmed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

He clarified that the conference will have the presence of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and aims to attract numerous major European economic entities, prominent investment firms, and investment funds.

Simultaneously, during a meeting conducted on Thursday at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, the Prime Minister directed efforts towards facilitating a broad array of investment opportunities for European companies and entities. Immediate coordination with the European Union has been urged to promote these opportunities, particularly within the industrial sector.

"We have a list of projects that require localization of their industries in collaboration with our European partners," he emphasized.

He further mentioned ongoing preparations for certain projects slated to be signed during the conference, particularly in areas of substantial cooperation from both sides, such as green hydrogen projects and others.

Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the importance of ensuring extensive participation from the Egyptian private sector in the conference, including representatives from chambers of commerce, business leaders, and Egyptian investors. He underscored the significance of their involvement in fostering partnerships with the European private sector.

On March 17, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen signed a joint declaration on the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Egypt and the European Union.
