GAFI grants 6 Golden Licenses worth EGP 5.6B

The companies that were given the Golden Licenses, on Tuesday, came as follows: the National Egyptian Railway Industries Company (NERIC) plans to establish a factory worth EGP 3.6 billion within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCzone).

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) has granted 6 Golden Licenses to representatives of a number of investment companies totaling EGP 5.6 billion, bringing the overall count to 29.

The companies that were given the Golden Licenses, on Tuesday, came as follows: the National Egyptian Railway Industries Company (NERIC) is planning to establish a factory worth EGP 3.6 billion within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCzone) using Golden License. 

Hassan Allam Holding will assume responsibility for the construction, management, operation, and maintenance of a strategic warehouse in Luxor, with an estimated cost of EGP 1.5 billion.

Additionally, Nilos intends to invest EGP 463.5 million in a residential building and another property that will accommodate a hotel, offices, and a shopping mall in Cairo. 

Ice Links will establish a food processing plant in the Borg Al Arab industrial zone in Alexandria, with an expenditure of EGP 134.6 million.

Moreover, EnviroProcess has committed EGP 74 million to invest in Menya's Wadi Al Sarereya industrial zone, focusing on the production of alternative fuels, carbon granules, and fibers derived from waste materials.

During a ceremony held on Monday, GAFI's Chairman, Hossam Heiba, emphasized that the latest Golden Licenses reflect a diverse range of sectors and geographical locations, aligning with the government's goal of achieving sustainable and comprehensive growth while ensuring equitable development throughout the country.

Heiba stressed that GAFI's role extends beyond issuing golden licenses, which serve as comprehensive documents encompassing all the necessary permits for businesses to commence operations. 

He highlighted that GAFI remains engaged with investors, facilitating administrative procedures throughout the project's completion.
