Cabinet approves 5 commitment agreements for oil exploration

These draft laws also includes authorizing the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to contract with the EGPC and HBS International Egypt Limited, to amend the commitment agreement to exploit oil in the southwestern El Alamein region in the Western Desert.

The Egyptian Cabinet approved 5 draft laws to authorize commitment agreements, for the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), and a number of national and international companies for oil and petroleum exploitation.

These agreements includes a draft law authorizing a contract between the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the EGPC, Khalda Petroleum Company (Apache), and Tharwa Petroleum Company to amend the commitment agreement for research about petroleum and its exploitation in the Siwa region of Western Sahara.

In addition to, a draft law authorizing the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to contract with the EGPC and the IPR Trans Oil Corporation company, to amend the concession agreement to search for and exploit oil in the Yadma/Alamein region in the Western Desert.

These draft laws also includes authorizing the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to contract with the EGPC and HBS International Egypt Limited, to amend the commitment agreement to exploit oil in the southwestern El Alamein region in the Western Desert.

Additionally, a draft law authorizing the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to contract with the EGPC and North Petroleum International Company, to amend the commitment agreement  to search for and exploit oil in the East Ghazalat region in the Western Desert.

A draft law authorizing the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to contract with the EGAS and Dana Gas Egypt Limited to search for and exploit gas and oil in the New Manzala area in the Nile Delta.
