Madbouly to supervise customs release of goods from Alexandria Port

The released goods include food commodities, feed, medicines and production requirements

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly begins a special tour to release goods from the port of Alexandria, where he follows up on the progress of more than one release process from various Egyptian ports, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The released goods include food commodities, feed, medicines and production requirements.

Spokesman for the Egyptian Cabinet, Mohammad Al Hommosani told local media the decrease in commodity prices and their availability in abundance in the markets is the first outcome of the process of releasing the goods, explaining that the release of the goods comes in accordance with presidential directives to quickly release the goods immediately. Goods at various ports to contribute to providing more of them to citizens in the markets and reducing their prices.

Earlier in Feburary, Madbouly directed for a plan to gradually release goods in customs with priority to food commodities, medicines, and feed.  During the meeting, El Hommosani explained some reports monitoring the total food commodities, medicines, and fodder in customs were reviewed, where it was noted that the total currently in stock is worth about $1.3 billion.
