Jordan's King Abdullah II hosted a meeting at the Al-Husseiniya Palace on Saturday with several Arab foreign ministers who are participating in the Oman-Gaza Ministerial Meeting. The meeting is part of efforts to halt the war in Gaza.

In attendance were Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the United Arab Emirates' Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and Hussein Al-Sheikh, the Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

King Abdullah stressed the necessity of continued Arab coordination to speak with one voice to the international community regarding the grave developments in Gaza. He emphasized that it is the duty of Arab nations to press the international community and influential powers to stop the war in Gaza, provide continuous aid to the territory, and protect civilians.

The King expressed Jordan's condemnation of the massacres committed against innocent civilians in Gaza, warning that the continued conflict would lead to an explosion of conditions in the region.

Jordan also condemned the Israeli escalation in the West Bank and stressed the importance of continued support for the Palestinian National Authority.

King Abdullah called for continued support of international organizations operating in the Gaza Strip, particularly the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

His Majesty reaffirmed that a military or security solution will not succeed in ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The only path is a political solution to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state resolution.

He expressed Jordan's complete rejection of any attempt to separate the West Bank and Gaza Strip, considering them an extension of one Palestinian state.

King Abdullah highlighted Jordan's steadfast support for the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights to establish their independent and sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The meeting was attended by Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and the Director of His Majesty's Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan.
