The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) pumped about EGP 642 million from 2014 to 2023, to finance about 9,000 small and micro projects in the North and South Sinai governorates and providing about 20,000 job opportunities, CEO of MSMEDA, Bassel Rahmi, stated.

This came within the scope of the implementation of the state’s strategy aimed at developing and reconstructing Sinai and preparing the business environment to become conducive to the growth of small projects, MSMEDA’s CEO said.

Rahmi added that the agency provides various forms of financial and technical support to project owners, to help them grow and develop their businesses to accommodate more decent and sustainable job opportunities.

Rahmi pointed out that the agency is keen to facilitate the participation of small business owners and craftsmen from the people of Sinai in MSMEDA’s exhibitions, in order to open marketing horizons for their products and contribute to their growth.

MSMEDA contributes to creating job opportunities for women across Sinai by improving their capabilities through training programs in cooperation with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation. This will enable them to establish their small and micro projects or develop their existing projects, Rahmi added.

Recently in October, The prime minister stated that the value of the second phase of the developmental plan in Sinai is EGP 363 billion, including EGP 8.7 billion and EGP 8.3 billion allocated to the establishment and upgrade of educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, respectively.
